In north Delhi's Burari, the BJP held a 'Thank You Modi ji' rally on Sunday, praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decisions to resume land mutation in rural villages and eliminate mandatory no objection certificates for power connections in certain parts of the city. Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva described these actions as a "Diwali gift" for residents of villages and unauthorized colonies, attributing the resolution of these long-standing issues to the efforts of his party's MPs who met with LG VK Saxena. Sachdeva commended the Narendra Modi government for responding promptly by waiving the requirement for departmental NOCs for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies and non-conforming areas of the city, as well as reopening property mutations in Delhi's villages after a two-decade hiatus.
However, AAP accused the BJP of attempting to claim credit for the work of the city government and deceiving the public, pointing out that the Delhi government provides the most affordable electricity in the country and questioning why none of the 22 BJP-governed states offer free electricity. At the rally, Sachdeva highlighted that due to previous restrictions, elders were unable to transfer property to their children, but after their intervention, these restrictions were lifted. He noted the removal of the requirement for DDA's NOC for electricity connections in unauthorized colonies as another positive outcome. Sachdeva expressed confidence in BJP's success in the upcoming polls in February and promised to extend electricity and water subsidies to middle-class households under their government. The top priorities on the agenda include implementation of the Prime Minister's housing scheme, Ayushman Bharat, and the regularization of temporary workers like home guards, bus marshals, and guest teachers. Sachdeva emphasized that no slums would be demolished without providing alternative housing to residents under the BJP's administration. Additionally, he stated that the Yamuna River would be free from pollution within a year as part of the Nirmal Yamuna Plan.
